Generator Service & Repair Done Right

Preventive maintenance, repair, and load-bank testing for residential and commercial generators across the San Francisco metro. Whatever brand you own, our C-10 techs service it. Annual PM contracts, transfer-switch troubleshooting, fuel-system service, and 24/7 emergency repair.

How We Work

Site visit, load calculation, written quote — and we stand behind the install.

1. Inspection & diagnostic

On-site inspection: visual check, fluids, batteries, control panel codes, transfer switch operation, and a test start. Written report with photos.

2. Service or repair

Oil and filter change, coolant flush, fuel polish, battery replacement, controller updates, ATS service. Common parts on the truck; brand-specific parts ordered same-day.

3. Load-bank test & sign-off

Annual load-bank test to verify your unit will actually carry its rated kW under load. Documentation for facility audits and warranty compliance.

When You Need Generator Service & Repair

Generator service is the right call when:

  • Annual PM is due — most manufacturers require it for warranty; insurance and facility audits ask for it.
  • The unit won’t start or transfer — control-panel codes, dead batteries, fuel issues, ATS faults.
  • Load-bank test is required — health-care, data-center, and high-rise facilities need documented annual load tests.
  • You bought the property with a generator — get a baseline inspection before you rely on it.
  • Storm or PSPS just ended — unit ran for hours; oil, filters, and fuel may need service.
  • Manufacturer-warranty repair — we coordinate the claim with your manufacturer so you don’t chase paperwork.

On a PM contract, we show up on schedule and your generator stays inspection-ready year-round. Call: (415) 818-1837

What Affects the Cost of Generator Service & Repair

Service is either per-visit or a flat annual PM contract. Depends on:

  • PM contract vs. one-off. Annual contracts are cheaper per visit and include priority emergency response.
  • Unit size and type. Residential air-cooled units are quicker than commercial liquid-cooled diesel units.
  • Fuel system. Diesel units need fuel polish every few years; natural-gas units skip that line item.
  • Load-bank test. Required annually for many commercial sites — quoted separately.
  • Parts. Filters, oil, coolant are included on PM contracts. Major repairs are quoted before work starts.
  • Emergency vs. scheduled. Scheduled visits are flat-rate. Emergency dispatch has a flat callout plus labor.

We quote the PM in writing before any work starts. No surprise charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service all brands?

Yes — our techs work on every major residential and commercial generator brand. Tell us the manufacturer and model when you call and we’ll bring the right parts.

How often should I service my generator?

Manufacturers require annual PM at minimum — many recommend twice yearly for commercial units. Heavy-use cycles (PSPS season, post-storm run) trigger additional service.

What's included in a PM contract?

Oil and filter change, air filter, spark plugs or fuel filters as applicable, coolant check, battery test, controller diagnostics, transfer-switch operation test, and a written report with photos. Load-bank test is annual on commercial PM contracts.

Can you do emergency repair if my unit fails during an outage?

Yes. We dispatch 24/7 across the SF metro. PM contract customers get priority. If we can’t fix it on the spot, we’ll get a rental unit on-site while we order parts.

Do you handle warranty claims?

Yes. We coordinate the claim with your unit’s manufacturer and handle the paperwork on your behalf, so you don’t have to call the factory or wait on hold.
